So my parents left yesterday to go to Hawaii for a week. My grandparents stayed over last night and brought us to school this morning. Only problem was, I was up til 3 am reading fan fiction writing an essay, and I inevitably slept right through my alarm, which was set for 5. And my grandmother didn’t even bring an alarm clock with her. So I woke up in a fit of panic at 7:01, and realized I had a 7:30 class. I freaked, went and woke up my sister and brother (who were a bit late too) then my grandmother. And ran back to my room, took a three and a half minute shower (a record for me), packed my bag, grabbed a piece of bread (didn’t have time to toast it), let the dog out to pee, looked around frantically for my brush (only to discover that it was in my sister’s soccer bag, which was, of course, at a friends’ house), and ran out the door.
Where I waited several minutes for my grandmother to come out and drive me to school (I live about an hour’s walk from school, depending on how heavy my school bag is…). When she finally came out (very apologetic, explaining that she had wanted to wake up my grandfather first and make him breakfast) she drove at 10 mph. Literally. I love my grandmother dearly, she’s one of the most loving and caring people I know, but quite frankly, she has got to speed up a bit or she’s bound to get rear ended by someone going at a more normal speed.
Anyhow, I was 8 minutes late for chem, which wasn’t too bad, I thought. And my grandma signed a note, so it was technically excused and I don’t get a cut for being late three times. After my rather frantic exit, I thought chem would be relaxing in comparison. But no. It was the last day of a big project in which we could collect data, and one of my lab partners was missing. But my teacher let my go grab a friend who didn’t have a class to come and help. Quite stressful though, quite stressful… and we had meant to test all the pHs from 0 to 14 twice. We did the full range once, but only did 0-7 of the second trial. Oh well. My lab partner who was here today is typing up the data and making a graph and sending it to me, and I’m doing the rest of the report. Let’s just hope we’ve come up with SOME small correlation between the variables in our experiment… please please please…
I’m going to go make some cheesecake to make myself feel better. If anyone wants the recipe (and it looks GOOD) check out YT Recipes on my blogroll- not quite sure how to put a link in here directly to the blog- and look up the Nutella Cheesecake. Wish me luck. As you might know, I’m a bit accident prone in the kitchen…
